Sung-Ok Chang, Ph.D., RN has been the dean of Korea University College of Nursing and the chair of Nursing Research Institute of Korea University since March, 2013.
She has served as the president of the Korean Academy of Fundamental of Nursing from January,2012 to December, 2013. In addition, Prof. Chang has been the vice president of Korean Gerontological Nursing Society since January, 2013. She has been the board member of Korean Society for the Scientific Study of Subjectivity, and also has been the reviewer of Journal of the Korean Gerontological Society, Journal of Advanced Nursing and Journal of Asian Nursing Research since 2003. She also is also a vice president of Korean Nursing directors & Deans Conference from February, 2013 to January, 2014.

- Fundamentals of Nursing 6 credits, Lab practicum 3 credits, Lecture 3 credits
This course is intended to acquire fundamental nursing knowledge and skill relating to basic nursing concepts, nursing process, human needs, and nursing therapeutic modalities. Nursing skills will include basic nursing activities to meet the basic needs of patients and therapeutic modalities to solve patients' health problem.

Graduate Program
- Qualitative Nursing Research Methodology (3 credits)
The philosophical backgrounds and the conceptual basis of qualitative research approaches are reviewed. And the feasibilities and nursing implications of each approaches and methods in research of nursing phenomena are analyzed and discussed.
- Theory Construction in Nursing II (3 credits)
Major issues and methods relevant to nursing theory development are discussed and explored by the review of literatures and group discussions. In addition, constructing conceptual frameworks to explain various nursing phenomena were studied.

Graduate School of Education Program
- Theory in Nursing Education(2 credits)
This course is designed to provide the student with scientific Knowledge in nursing in the context of philosophical debates underlying science, knowledge development and values. Focus is on a exploration of structure of theory, a variety of metatheoretical positions, along with their implications for theory development and research methodology selection
- Qualitative Nursing Research Methodology(2 credits)
The Philosophical backgrounds and the conceptual basic of qualitative research approaches are reviewed. In addition, nursing implications of each approaches on nursing phenomena are analyzed and discussed.
