Institute of Nursing Research

The Institute of Nursing Research

Since its establishment in 1997, the Institute of Nursing Research at Korea University has been striving for the development of nursing theories and research and nursing education and has contributed to the development of nursing policy. The institute aims to promote nursing research by conducting and supporting research activities on the theory and application of nursing science. Its goals include contributing to the development of Korean nursing through scientific research in nursing and related fields as well as to research, theory, education, and policy development for the health care and health promotion of people with chronic diseases. As a designated research institute certified by Korea University, the Institute of Nursing Research is promoting a specialization strategy called the “management of chronic diseases and promotion of health.”

To further develop this specialization strategy and to disseminate nursing knowledge, the institute holds domestic and international conferences every year. It identifies the latest nursing research trends through domestic conferences and prepares a venue for in-depth discussions on them. Distinguished scholars from around the world are invited to the international academic conference held by the institute every two years to exchange international nursing knowledge and experience.

The institute supports nursing professionals in remaining current with the latest nursing research and health policies through academic meetings four times a year, and carries out various academic activities, educational projects, and industry-university cooperation activities.
